Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves
In a separate large bowl, beat eggs and sugar until smooth
Stir in vegetable oil, pumpkin puree, water, and vanilla extract until combined
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined
Fold in the walnuts or pecans if using
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top
Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean
Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely
