  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C)
  • Place the Texas toast slices on a baking sheet
  • In a small bowl, mix softened butter, garlic, oregano, parsley, salt, and pepper until well combined
  • Spread the butter mixture evenly over the top of each slice of bread
  • Top each slice with a generous amount of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the bread are golden and crispy
  • Serve immediately while hot and cheesy

Notes

  1. For extra crunch, broil the toast for the last 1-2 minutes of baking
  2. You can use any cheese blend you like, but mozzarella provides the best melt
  3. For added flavor, sprinkle with crushed red pepper flakes or extra garlic powder
